In late 2011 - early 2012, a series of robberies was registered in the Central District of Novokuznetsk. All of them were committed according to one and the same scheme, the victims in each case were pensioners, yet the policemen for a long time failed to establish his identity - none of the victims had seen the robber's face.
In the course of the investigative actions, the policemen retrieved the criminal's picture from the video cameras installed in the operating rooms of the banks where he hunted down his victims.
However, the surveillance camera image did not allow the policemen to identify the robber - he always stooped and pulled his cap over his head to hide his face.
The policemen were still unable to catch the serial robber, despite the fact that the policemen laid an ambush for him in the banks. He seemed to feel the danger and did not rush to commit his next crime.
However, Lady Luck smiled on the investigators. In one of the banks, the policemen detained a young man resembling the person in the snapshots. He proved to be a 27-year-old local drug addict with rich criminal records. Last October, he was released from prison where he served a sentence for committing a series of robberies (in 2009, the investigators have confirmed 9 episodes of his criminal activities).
