WHO Project starts in Lipetsk region

The Lipetsk region became pilot region of Russia where this year realisation of the project of the World organization of public health services "Traffic safety" begins. Today in the region official authorities the meeting on which concrete directions joint with the World organization of public health services of work on safety increase on roads were planned took place.

Barbara Krol, experts of the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation, heads of the regional governments of internal affairs took part in working out of a comprehensive plan of actions and the Emercom, of some power executive powers the regional co-ordinator of the project on traffic safety of the World organization of public health services Franchesko Zambon, the representative of Global partnership on traffic safety.

Welcoming visitors, the head of administration of Lipetsk region Oleg Korolev told that a problem of increase of traffic safety today - one of the most actual.

"To preservation of a life and health of people, training of children to behavior rules in streets, to maintenance of as much as possible comfortable conditions on roads it is given more and more attention and at the highest state level, and in each of the Russian regions,"  Oleg Korolev emphasized. It assured members of delegation the World organization of public health services that in region all actions provided by the project will be executed.

At meeting it was noticed that the project main task - decrease in number of deadly cases in road and transport failures. The head of the Internal Affairs Directorate on Lipetsk region major general of militia Vladimir Vinevsky in his speech noticed that by experience of Lipetsk region, in many cases of heavy consequences at failures it would be possible to avoid, if small passengers were in special automobile armchairs or parents used for them special keeping adaptations.

Therefore, first of all, experts carry out monitoring of a present situation, in particular, analyse, what categories of the population and why do not use seat belts. On the basis of conclusions of experts the recommendations urged sharply to reduce a death-roll in car accidents will be developed. The program of the project the CART is calculated for five years.
