Meeting of experts of Ministry of Interior of Russia and main commandant's office of police of Ministry of Interior and Administration of Republic of Poland took place in Moscow

One of these days, a meeting of experts of the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation and the Main commandant's office of police of the Ministry of Interior and administration of Republic Poland took place at the Ministry of Interior in Moscow.

The Russian side was represented by twelve delegates of units of the Ministry of Interior of Russia: the Criminal Investigation Department, the Economic Security Department, the Center "Olympic Games 2014" and the Internal Affairs Directorate in Kaliningrad region.

The Polish delegation consisting of six members was headed by the director of the Central bureau of investigation of the main commandant's office of police of Poland Adam Maruszak. It comprised heads of the General police HQ, the Management for struggle against organized economic criminality, the central unit for struggle against human trafficking of the Bureau of criminal police and the Bureau of international cooperation of police.

During the negotiations the participants closely discussed the state and prospects of the Russian-Polish cooperation in the law enforcement sphere and exchanged the detailed information about the structure, functions and problems of the basic criminal units of the Ministry of Interior of Russia and the Central bureau of investigation of Poland.

the deputy head of the Center "Olympic Games 2014" of the Ministry of Interior of Russia lieutenant colonel of militia Alexey Titov presented a report on the safeguarding activity of the Center during the forthcoming Olympic games in Sochi, including the issues of the counter-terrorism security of sports objects under construction. The Polish party in turn shared experience of preparing for the European football championship in 2012 and suggested accepting a   delegation of the Ministry of Interior of Russia for studying advanced experience in this respect. Besides, the Polish partners proactively expressed their readiness to contribute to the RF MOI's inclusion as an observer to the European network of national contact points for exchange of information about football fans.

The deputy head of the Internal Affairs Directorate in Kaliningrad region, head of the Criminal militia colonel of militia Yuri Dekasov held a presentation of the activity of the management and described in details the features of the crime situation in the region. Also, he presented offers aimed at the increase of efficiency of the frontier interaction for consideration of the Polish party.

Also, a decision was made to perform joint operative activities aimed at the improvement of the crime situation in frontier regions of Russia and Poland, to adjust the regular and direct exchange of information between interested units of law enforcement bodies of the Russian Federation and police bodies of Poland, aimed at the detection, suppression and investigation of crimes within the limits of the active bilateral agreements between the Ministry of Interior of Russia and the Ministry of Interior and administration of Poland.

In conclusion of the meeting, a ceremony of awarding departmental awards of the Ministry of Interior and administration of the Republic Poland to representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Russia for the successful coordination of interaction between units of law enforcement bodies of the Russian Federation and Police of Republic Poland and the help to the Polish experts in the investigation of the reasons of the air crash involving the plane of the president of Poland Lech Kaczyński near Smolensk which occurred on April 10, 2010.

In the accompanying speech Adam Maruszak appreciated the well-managed and harmonious actions of employees of the Ministry of Interior of Russia which made it possible for the Polish experts to work efficiently while investigating the reasons of the tragedy. The Polish party, he emphasized, highly appreciated the readiness of the Russian colleagues to come to the aid in time of need which was a sign of the further upward development of the relationship of the Ministry of Interior of Russia and the Ministry of Interior and administration of Poland in terms of the counter-criminal activity, strengthening the good-neighbourly relations of the Russian and Polish peoples.

In the answering speech the head of the department of organization of international cooperation major general of internal service Peter Popov thanked the management of the Ministry of Interior and administration of Poland for the high appreciation of the activity of employees of the Ministry of Interior of Russia and expressed his readiness to work in close cooperation to help promote mutual initiatives in the law enforcement sphere and to contribute to the implementation of bilateral agreements on the counteraction to the international criminality and maintenance of the public order for the benefit of citizens of the two states.
