Krasnoyarsk militia officers visited Holy Assumption man's monastery

Twenty attendees of the Professional education center of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate in Krasnoyarsk area visited the Holy Assumption man's monastery in settlement Udachniy near to Krasnoyarsk.

The prevailing part of the attendees of the professional education center are beat militia officers from various districts and cities of the area. They have taken up service in law enforcement bodies quite recently and are have now having the initial militia training. The pacifying serenity of the monastery, the simple and modest life of the monks, the combination of cleanliness and calmness produced an ineffable impact upon the militia employees.

Priest father Andrey, a member of the Public council at the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the area, told the militia employees about the orthodox holidays, church prayer services and bible commandments. The commandments protect the person against committing sins for which one is responsible before the God and people. The mission of militia officers is the same in a way: to preclude law infringements. However the most important thing is to let the person become aware of its guilt and repent. In his turn father Andrey had to answer the quite complicated questions of the militia officers: how to behave when interrogating a believer, whether a priest can violate the seal of confession if he learns about a crime, what is the church's position about the death penalty?

Meetings with representatives of the clergy are regularly arranged in various units of law enforcement bodies of Krasnoyarsk region. Their purpose is to ensure the necessary psychological assistance to militia officers, to consolidate the cooperation of representatives of religious faiths of the area and law enforcement officers.

In conclusion the clergyman addressed the young militia employees urging them to bear the hard but necessary service fairly and with dignity and withstand the difficulties patiently preserving the inner kindness and harmony.
