Joint practice of power authorities took place in Chukchi autonomous region

The main objective of the training was to train particularities of undertaking the highest degree of alertness of units taking prime measures for suppression of an act of terrorism in the territory of Bilibino municipal district.

Among the participants were employees of the management of the Federal Security Service in Chukchi autonomous region, the internal affairs department in Bilibino municipal district, military men of service of the Northeast boundary management of the coast guard of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Anadyr, a group of the federal fire service in Chukchi Autonomous region, the official authorities of Bilibino municipal district, the object's maintenance personnel and others, more than 100 participants in total.

According to the scenario of the training exercises, the alert department of the internal affairs department in Bilibino received an anonymous phone call about the center of leisure and national creativity being mined to be triggered during a public event. The unknown person made political demands and declared the explosive will be activated at attempt of evacuation of the "hostages".

Right after the alarm message about the terrorist threat was received, prime measures were taken to block and cordon the scene. Analyzing the incoming information, the Operative Headquarters in Chukchi autonomous region made a decision to enact a counter-terrorism operation. As special actions were carried out to reveal and capture the "criminal group", to release "hostages" and to neutralize the "explosive", efficiency of the operating system of measures to be taken to ensure the counter-terrorism security of mass public objects was checked and additional measures aimed at its improvement were developed.

According to the head of the Operative Headquarters in Chukchi autonomous region, head of the RF Federal Security Service's department in Chukchi autonomous region Stepan Drozdov, all stages of the training featured excellent organization, the participants showed their readiness to act efficiently and with good coordination when performing counter-terrorism operations.
