"Iron guys 2010"

This traditional tournament for fighters of special mission and special militia groups was held in a large forest near settlement Cherntsy of Ivanovo region. The number of participants in the office combined events tournament which is traditionally timed to coincide with the celebration of the Anniversary of the special militia forces of Ivanovo region increases with each year.

This time, 13 teams of "iron guys" from Ivanovo, Kineshma, Vladimir, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Kirov arrived to challenge each other for the right to be considered as the strongest, the most dexterous and the fastest. Beside the team of fighters of the special militia forces and special mission group of the federal penitentiary service management Ivanovo region was represented by employees of the private security service, the convoy service, the patrol and inspection service, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, the center of counteraction to extremism.

The main challenge for each team was to overcome a combat course as fast as possible and without errors. It is seconds that literally counts. One error adds time penalty which can make the team collapse to the last positions of the tournament table even if the total score is not bad.

The first test in the combat course was a four meter high fence. Then the participants reach a deep ravine over which a log is laid... The main thing here is to suppress the excitement and move accurately to avoid making false steps and to collect one's gear for the following stage: they need accuracy while shooting at targets.

After several a number of rather tough ascensions and descents in the cross-country terrain the fighters get in a so-called "gas chamber": in a dark tent full of smoke they are to find the correct direction and the exit. Overcoming yet another fence they find themselves to be near a cableway over the river. The smoke screen here makers breathing difficult and stings eyes, the ropes spring and dance with each movement, but the participants overcome this uneasy stage one by one.

The real test is yet ahead on other coast: according to the rules of the tournament the utterly exhausted participants had to drag a companion in a litter several dozen meters and then to overcome the last meters before the end of the course under the barbed wire in smoke and to bellows of flashbangs.

The result of the tournament was that Ivanovo fighters of the special mission group "Hurricane" of the federal penitentiary service management of Russia in Ivanovo region were declared aces of aces for the second year running. The winners were conferred the well-deserved title "Iron guys 2010", certificates of honor, prize cups and valuable gifts.
